Nang Hoa Fragrant Rice
1. Description
- Nang Hoa Rice is derived from the Nang Hoa 9 rice variety, known for its resilience to drought, tolerance to salinity, and resistance to pests.
- It matures within 95-100 days and is typically cultivated in two main seasons: Summer-Autumn and Winter-Spring.
- Nang Hoa rice comes in two types, distinguished by their colors: translucent white (known as "rice in the flower") and opaque white (referred to as "rice milk flower").
- This high-quality fragrant rice emits a jasmine-like aroma, characterized by larger and longer grains. It retains a light, enduring fragrance and boasts higher levels of iron, calcium, and protein compared to regular rice.
- Primarily grown in Long An and Bac Lieu provinces, Nang Hoa rice cooks up sweet, soft, and sticky, maintaining its tender texture even after cooling. It is exported to various countries across Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and China, meeting stringent export standards required by markets such as the US and European countries.
