WATER SOFTENING SYSTEM
Water softening system includes:
1. Cationic resin to soften water
2. Composite container cover with plastic particles
3. The tank of reconstituted chemical solution
4. Plastic pipe fittings
5. Sand, gravel, plastic support material
6. Autovalve
Water softening procedure:
- Hard water softening treatment column is filled with synthetic particles. These particles cover a layer of sodium ions. When hard water flows through, these particles act as magnets, attracting all the calcium, magnesium ions (water hardening agents) exchanging with sodium ions.
- Finally, synthetic resins are saturated with mineral ions and need to be discharged and recharged. This process is called regeneration and is controlled by a control valve on the lid of the vessel. This control valve is the brain of the entire system.
- During the regeneration process, a brine tank will pump the salt water to the treatment column, cleaning synthetic resin particles that are saturated with calcium and magnesium.
- Salt water will clean up the calcium and magnesium ions and drain out of the drains. Regenerated resins are ready for a new treatment. The process is repeated.
