SNOW SHAN TEA

Snow Shan Tea, or Shan Tuyet, is a rare and premium tea sourced from the mountains of Northwest Vietnam. Grown at altitudes of 1500 to 2500 meters, this tea derives its name from the unique white fuzz on its buds, resembling snow. The tea is hand-plucked from ancient trees, some over 200 years old, ensuring a pure, rustic taste that embodies the mountain spirit.

1. Vietnamese Shan Tea Manufacturing Process

Fresh raw Shan Tuyet tea is harvested manually and processed by ethnic minority groups or local agricultural cooperatives affiliated with FGC member factories in tea-growing regions. You can watch the video about the process directly HERE.

The FGC systems Quality Management Unit is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of the production process. The department also oversees the quality of input semi-finished products.

The young tea buds are fresh, tender, and free from pests and diseases.
Tea buds, consisting of one bud and two leaves, must be carefully harvested and preserved to avoid crushing. The time between harvest and processing is typically no longer than 6 hours.
Production should take place in a well-ventilated area, separate from livestock and poultry breeding areas.
Only metalworking tools should be used for stirring, drying, and processing tea, including teapots.
The entire processing procedure, including grinding, withering, and drying, must adhere to the traditional methods.
At the central factory, FGC uses modern machinery to remove impurities before packing the finished products.
