How to Mix Hawker-Kote Waterproof Coating for Asphalt Tennis Courts
The mixing ratio and consumption rate of the Hawker-Kote coating largely depend on the quality of the asphalt surface. Surfaces with coarser aggregates and more voids will require more material, while smoother and denser surfaces consume less. Additionally, surfaces prone to water pooling or irregularities will need multiple patching layers, increasing the overall consumption.

- Choose fine aggregates and ensure precise surface leveling to reduce costs.
- Consider weather conditions and ensure skilled application for optimal results.
Reference Formula for Mixing
- Hawker-Kote Consumption: 0.2kg/layer/m².
- Standard Tennis Court Dimensions: 36.6m x 18.3m (~670m²).
- Material Requirements for One Layer:
+ Hawker-Kote: 134kg.
+ Clean, dry sand (20-40 mesh): 0.1m³ (~170kg).
+ Chrysotile fiber (6-50 mesh): 25kg (soaked in 20L of water for 8 hours).
► Tools:
- Two 200L containers.
- 1000W handheld mixer (750rpm).
► Mixing Procedure:
- Add 20L of clean water into the container and gradually mix in Hawker-Kote while continuously stirring for 5 minutes.
- Add the soaked Chrysotile fiber and mix for 10 minutes.
- Gradually add sand while stirring and adjust the mixture with clean water to achieve the desired consistency.
Important Notes for Application
- Clean and soak the surface for at least 1 hour to remove impurities.
- Spray water to moisten the surface before applying the coating.
- Continuously stir the mixture during application to maintain uniformity.
