SELF CLEANING IRON MAGNETIC SEPARATOR
1. Product Description:
A self-cleaning magnetic separator consists of a magnetic grid that moves within a stainless steel housing. The magnet attracts and retains metallic contaminants from the material being processed. At programmed intervals, the magnet is pneumatically ejected from the product flow path. The trapped metal particles then fall into a collection bin. The magnet is then returned to its original position to resume the separation process.
2. Magnetic Grid:
A magnetic grid is a system of magnetic bars arranged in a grid-like pattern, typically square or round.
3. Applications:
This type of separator is ideal for dry, free-flowing bulk materials in pipelines, such as those found in the ceramics, chemical, paper, animal feed, pharmaceutical, plastic, and grain industries. It is not suitable for sticky or oily powders as these can cause blockages.
4. Design:
The static, semi-automatic separators contain a single row of magnetic bars approximately 50mm thick. This ensures optimal capture of iron particles. These bars are housed within stainless steel tubes and are designed to move in and out of the product flow path.
5. Cleaning Mechanism:
The magnetic assembly can be manually withdrawn after stopping the product flow. After the cycle ends, the magnets automatically move to the ‘out’ position within their accompanying tubes. The attracted metal particles then fall out of the tube as they have been moved out of the magnetic field. When the magnetic unit is returned to its position, the magnets automatically return to the ‘in’ position and the product flow can continue.
