➦ What is 4×8ft plywood?
4×8ft plywood stands for “4-foot x 8-foot plywood”. People used to call plywood by its default size. Where the foot is the international unit of measurement, the international foot is defined as equal to 0.3048 meters (equivalent to 304.8 millimeters). The international standard notation for the foot is “ft,” so size of 4ft x 8ft would equate to a size of 1220mm x 2440mm.

There are 4 main types of 4×8ft plywood in terms of surface level: A, B, C, and D. Each board has two sides and can be used simultaneously with two levels, such as AB and BC. - Grade A: This is the highest quality plywood surface and costs the most. The board’s surface is sanded flat, smooth, and can be painted directly.
- Grade B: This surface type is slightly less smooth than grade A. The surface may have minor defects that have been corrected. Type B may also have some knots 2-3cm in diameter or some minor flaws.
- Grade C: The surface has an uneven color of 2-3cm diameter knots.
- Grade D: This is the cheapest plywood. Surface defects have not been corrected, with knots up to 5cm.
