Introduce:

- Methane is a colorless, odorless gas. It is the main component of natural gas, a mixture containing about 75% CH4, 15% ethane (C2H6), and other 5% Hydrocarbons, such as Propane (C3H8), Butane (C4H10).
- At room temperature, methane is a lighter gas than air, melts at a temperature of - 183 ° C, boils at a temperature of - 164 ° C, is not soluble in water, and is a flammable gas.
 
Some Application of Methane (CH4):

- Methane gas is low cost, easy to handle and clean, so it is widely used as a fuel in homes, businesses and in factories.
- In the chemical industry, methane is a raw material used to produce Methanol (CH3OH), Formaldehyde (CH2O), Nitromethane (CH3NO2), Chloroform (CH3Cl), Carbon Tetrachloride (CCl4), and some Freons.
