WHITE OAK

1. Brief introduction

• North American white oak is one of the many varieties of oak tree. Thanks to its toughness, water and air tightness, its high aesthetics, signature flavor, and not to mention the strict management of forest farming in the United States, white oak has become a great product. It is widely used in furniture, exterior, flooring, wine tanks, and building materials applications.

• White oak wood from North America is full of high value environmental certifications. The timber cultivation and inspection agencies in the United States are strictly controlled by hardwood forests in general and white / red oak in particular to ensure the sustainable development of this product line.

2. Identification characteristics

• The sapwood of the white oak ranges in color from grayish white to slightly brownish, while the heartwood is from light brown to dark brown.The colors of these two sections are not as distinctly different as red oak.

• The wood grain of the white oak is longer, easily recognizable.

• Moderate to rough texture.

3. Application

• Furniture, decoration, floor coverings.

• Because of its very good waterproof ability, white oak is also used for kitchen cabinets, exterior, doors, shipbuilding, wine barrels, general storage tanks.

• Construction joints such as glulam (glue-laminated) structures, and are useful for building walls, stairs, ceilings, etc.
