FLOUR WASTEWATER TREATMENT
1. Wastewater from processing factories comes from the following 3 phases
+ Washing water: Wastewater is mainly from washing process (sandy soil, contains little organic ingredients).
+ Production wastewater: Contains many organic substances, residues, arising from grinding, separation, etc
+ Organic ingredients such as starch, protein, cellulose, pectin, and sugar present in raw tapioca are the cause of high pollution for the wastewater flows of flour factories. Wastewater generated from flour production lines has the following characteristics: low pH, high content of organic and inorganic matter, etc.
2. Wasterwater treatment process
- Waste water after being discharged from the factory will be put into a settling tank, where it acts to stabilize the water flow, helping to bring the water back to a static state, stabilizing pollution parameters such as: COD, BOD, -CN.
- Water after passing through the sedimentation tank will be put directly into the biological tank (most commonly used is the Biogas tank).
- The treated water in the Biogas tank will be taken to the aerobic biological tank (usually using 2 forms of natural biological lake or aeration tank with continuous aeration of Aerotank). Each type of tank has its own advantages:
+ Biological lakes (popularly used for provinces in the Central Highlands: Dac Lack, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Thanh Hoa, etc) This method does not require high technology, low investment, and The operating fee is inexpensive, the management is simple and the efficiency is also quite high.
+ Aerotank tank: this type of tank is popularly used for factories, industrial parks, etc, the advantage of this tank is good handling capacity, fast growing microbiota, shorter processing time. Biological lakes from 10 to 15 days
- Water after treatment can flow directly to the disinfection tank before going through the sedimentation tank to discharge into the environment (if using the bio-lake). In the case of using Aerotank tanks, the treated water should be put into a physical and chemical treatment tank.
