CHEMICAL SAFETY TRAINING – PROTECTING HEALTH, PREVENTING RISK
Chemicals are widely used across many manufacturing sectors, but they also carry the risk of occupational disease and workplace accidents. Chemical safety training provided by the Industrial Equipment Safety Inspection Joint Stock Company (SIE) helps workers identify hazards, understand safe working procedures, and respond promptly to incidents — while ensuring the business complies with Decree 113/2017/NĐ-CP.
1. When is chemical safety training required?
- When starting work involving chemicals.
- When changing the type of chemical, process, or equipment used.
- After a long period without chemical exposure, requiring a knowledge refresh.
- When periodic or surprise inspections reveal a breach of safety procedures.

2. Trainee groups (per Article 32, Decree 113/2017/NĐ-CP)
- Group 1: Business leaders, plant managers, heads/deputy heads of departments related to chemicals.
- Group 2: Staff responsible (full-time or part-time) for chemical safety.
- Group 3: Workers who directly handle, store, or use chemicals.
3. Training content
- Group 1: Legal regulations, hazard identification, incident-response coordination plans.
- Group 2: Chemical properties and classification, safety management procedures, prevention and incident-handling solutions, environmental remediation plans.
- Group 3: List of hazardous chemicals, storage/use procedures, first aid for chemical exposure, and response to spills/leaks.
4. Periodic training duration
- Group 1: minimum 8 hours (1 day).
- Group 2: minimum 12 hours (1.5 days).
- Group 3: minimum 16 hours (2 days).
(Includes time for the final assessment.)
5. Commitments & training service at SIE
- Certified and qualified to conduct occupational safety and hygiene training (Category C).
- Instructors with many years of experience curriculum tailored to each trainee group.
