ARGON (AR)
1. Overview
Argon is a noble gas and the third-most abundant gas in Earths atmosphere, making up about 0.93% of the air we breathe. It is colorless, odorless, and inert under most conditions, making it useful in a variety of industrial applications.
2. Our Product
We supply argon gas (Ar) in various pure and packaged forms. Argon is crucial in welding applications, where it serves as an inert shielding gas to improve arc stability and weld quality. It is also indispensable in processes requiring an oxygen- and nitrogen-free environment, such as heat treatment and specialty alloy manufacturing.
3. Applications
— Welding & Metal Fabrication: Argon enhances arc stability and is commonly used in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes.
— Aviation & Aircraft: Used in welding specialty alloys and in the production of light bulbs and lasers. It creates oxygen- and nitrogen-free atmospheres for heat treatment processes.
— Automotive & Transportation Equipment: Argon is utilized in welding auto parts and frames, as well as in airbag manufacturing where it ensures a controlled, inert atmosphere.
— Metal Production: Argon plays a critical role in maintaining consistent temperatures and ingredient ratios during metal processing. It prevents oxidation and reduces chromium loss in the Argon-Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) stainless steel refining process.
