SPIRAL PERMEABLE DRAINAGE PIPE
1. About Spiral Permeable Drainage Pipe System
The spiral permeable drainage pipe system is designed to quickly drain water that seeps through the asphalt concrete layer. This system reduces the impact on adhesion and extends the lifespan of asphalt concrete road structures on bridges. Globally, this system is widely used in bridge and road projects. In recent years in Vietnam, key projects have installed and used flexible spiral permeable drainage pipes with stainless steel material. Examples include:
- Vinh Tuy Bridge 2 – Hanoi
- Thu Thiem Bridge 2 – Ho Chi Minh City
- Van Don – Tien Yen – Mong Cai Expressway, Quang Ninh Province
- My Thuan – Can Tho Project
- North-South Expressway (East) Phase 2021 – 2025
2. Features of Spiral Permeable Drainage Pipe
- Material: Made from SUS304 stainless steel, which provides high heat resistance, hardness, durability, excellent elasticity, and minimal deformation or protrusion during installation or asphalt concrete compaction.
- Design: The pipes feature water permeable holes with a diameter of 1.8mm and a spiral shape, enhancing water collection and drainage efficiency.
- Installation: The spiral design allows easy connection by simply twisting the ends of two pipes together without the need for separate fittings.
The addition of the spiral permeable drainage pipe system is recommended. This is a necessary and suitable solution for draining water within the pavement structure on bridge decks, reducing the impact of water on the road surface, and increasing the lifespan of the pavement structure.
