With the necessity of measuring humidity and temperature, the application of hygrometer is becoming increasingly common in various fields such as agriculture, manufacturing, commodities, etc. To ensure the devices operate efficiently, hygrometers need to undergo inspection and calibration.

1) Why inspect and calibrate equipment?

• Temperature (20 ± 2)°C.
• Relative humidity from 40% RH to 70% RH.
3) Preparation for inspection and calibration:
Turn on the hygrometers to be inspected and calibrated according to the operating instructions of the device.
4) Inspection and calibration procedure
When conducting inspection and calibration of hygrometers, organizations must adhere strictly to TCVN 87:2001, including the following steps:
Step 1: External inspection
Inspect visually to determine the suitability of the hygrometer for the specified requirements in the technical documentation, regarding shape, size, display, power source, label, sealing structure of the measuring device, accompanying documents, and accessories.
Step 2: Technical inspection
Check the normal operation status of the hygrometer according to the operating instructions.
Step 3: Measurement inspection
• Check humidity error.
• Check self-recording time.
Note: This procedure is applicable to hygrometers with a measuring range from 0% RH to 100% RH, accuracy from ±1.5% RH to ±6% RH.
5) Inspection and calibration period:
The inspection and calibration cycle of hygrometers is 1 year.
