AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCHES (ATS)
In this article, Sang Tao JSC would like to introduce Automatic Transfer Switches which maintain the operation of the load in the event of a power failure thanks to the automatic switch from the grid to the generator.
1. Product Infomation
► To guarantee a continuous energy supply, specific electrical installations are connected to two power sources:
- Normal Source: The primary power supply.
- Backup Source: Activates when the normal source becomes unavailable.
A mechanical and/or electrical interlocking system between two interpact switch disconnectors or compact circuit breakers prevents simultaneous connection of both sources during switching.
► Types of source-changeover systems:
- Remote-Operated Source-Changeover System – Allows manual switching from a distance.
- Automatic Source-Changeover System – Automatically transfers power to the backup source when the normal source fails.
► Applications:
ATS cabinets are used in trade centers, office buildings, apartment buildings, hospitals, ports, and industrial areas such as factories, where loads require a continuous power supply and high reliability. ATS is also used in both civil and industrial settings where sudden power outages frequently occur.
