- Shell relaxing chair was designed and introduced by Hans J. Wegner to the public in 1963 at the annual Furniture Guild exhibition in Copenhagen (Denmark). Immediately, this chair received the attention and love of the critics at the exhibition because of the breakthrough design, pioneering of a 3-legged wooden chair with a back and a cushion-covered seat.
