Description
Ammonium Hydroxide (NH4OH), also known as ammonia solution, is a liquid formed when ammonia gas dissolves in water. It is a colorless solution, highly soluble in water, with a strong pungent odor characteristic of ammonia. Prolonged inhalation can cause poisoning. Although existing in solution form, it retains the typical properties of NH3.
In nature, NH4OH can be produced through the decomposition of animal remains or animal excretion.
