Vietnam Banks Association is a voluntary professional organization of Vietnamese credit institutions operating on the principle of voluntariness, self-management, self-responsibility in all aspects, gathering and encouraging members to cooperate and support each other in business activities, to represent and protect the lawful rights and interests of its members, to act as a bridge between its members and the State officials in order to stabilize and develop healthily, effectively and safely the system of credit institutions in Vietnam.
Vietnam Banks Association joined ASEAN Banks Association(8 September 1995) after Vietnam was officially admitted to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). To date, has cooperated with Banks Association of more than 30 countries and regions in the world.
