I – Definition of the oil-coated Acacia wood
The Acacia wood has other name of Acacia auriculiformis.
The oil-coated Acacia wood includes the wood boards jointed from the Acacia wood pallets. After being jointed and processed, the board’s surface will be covered with a thin oil layer to protect the surface from termites and increase the wood’s aesthetics.
II – Quality standards of the oil-coated Acacia wood
Common specifications:
– Thickness: 15/ 18/ 20/ 26/ 36/ 38 (mm)
– Width: 400/ 600/ 650/ 800/ 1016/ 1220 (mm)
– Length: 800/ 1000/ 1830/ 1880/ 2440/ 2500 (mm)
AC Grade: Side A is absolutely nice without knots, heartwood, termite, black seam, etc. Side C allows the sapwood account for 60-65% of total surface area, not limited to live knots, the dead knots must be processed, the color’s quality is relatively lower than side A and side B. The moisture content is from 8% to 14%.
BC grade: Side B allows the small live knots with the average diameter lower than 1cm, no heartwood, sapwood only accounts for 30–35%. Side C allows the sapwood account for 60-65% of total surface area, not limited to live knots, the dead knots must be processed, the color’s quality is relatively lower than side A and side B. The humidity is from 8% to 14%.
